Are you battling bloating, IBS and/or lack of energy?

To hit your goal, it is vital that we work together to stabilize the inner workings of your body – your gut – your second brain! How long this will take, very much depends on how much you have abused it!

The good news is there are several different approaches we can explore to uncover what is going to work for you.  For example, tailored Intermittent Fasting, the Fodmap approach, Detoxing, Anti-inflammatory approaches – everyone is different, so what works for one, will not necessarily work for another.  It’s my job, with your input and effort, to suss out what’s going to work for you.

Being overweight or underweight is a symptom of poor health and imbalance, it is not the problem in itself.  My aim is to get your metabolism working well and in balance so that your weight will sort itself out. Optimum gut health is about getting the right balance of your microbiome – the bacteria inside your gut.  If it’s in balance you’ll experience good digestion, high energy, good mood, and clear thinking.  If it’s out of balance then digestive issues, low mood, and low immunity can result.  The upside is, your microbiome can change and adapt very quickly so getting you on the right Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan with regards to probiotics (indigestible fibre) and prebiotics (foods containing live bacteria such as kefir and sauerkraut) can have a huge impact.

In advance of your first consultation, I’ll get you to complete an in-depth questionnaire, including a food diary, which I will analyse.  More often than not, it highlights key nutrients that are missing from the diet, but we will also investigate possible food intolerances by means of elimination.  You'll get a 6-week personalised Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan which we will review and tweak as necessary through our coaching sessions.  I may not have all the answers on the spot, but it's my job to go away and do the research to get the right evidenced-based answers for you, and together, we implement them through your plan, in such a way that suits your lifestyle.

Discover the right foods to fight inflammation

Inflammation happens to everyone, whether you’re aware of it or not.

Your immune system creates inflammation to protect the body from infection, injury, or disease. There are many things you wouldn’t be able to heal from without inflammation.

Inflammation is classified into two main types:

  • Acute inflammation usually occurs for a short (yet often severe) duration.  It often resolves in two weeks or less. Symptoms appear quickly. This type restores your body to its state before injury or illness.

  • Chronic inflammation is a slower and generally less severe form of inflammation. It typically lasts longer than six weeks. It can occur even when there’s no injury, and it doesn’t always end when the illness or disorders and even prolonged stress injury is healed. Chronic inflammation has been linked to autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, gout and diabetes.

How do you know if you are suffering from chronic inflammation?

  • Body pain, arthralgia, myalgia

  • Chronic fatigue and insomnia

  • Depression, anxiety, and mood disorders

  • Gastrointestinal complications like constipation, diarrhoea, and acid reflux

  • Weight gain or weight loss

  • Frequent infections.

What can we do?

Food is medicine and if used in the right way, can be incredibly healing. An anti-inflammatory approach favours fruits and vegetables, foods containing omega-3 fatty acids, whole grains, lean protein, healthful fats, and spices. It discourages or limits the consumption of processed foods, red meats, and alcohol.

I’ll come up with a personalised 6-week Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan that will work for you.  It may not hit the spot straight away, we may need to look at different approaches, but we’ll do it together. An anti-inflammatory diet is not a specific regimen but rather a style of eating. It’s one thing following a ‘diet’ (hate that word!)… a Meal Plan... the tough bit is making it a lifestyle, but that’s where I come in!

Support, motivation, practical evidence-based protocols you can use to help you make the right healthy choices.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t always make the right choices myself, but 80% of the time I do – that’s why I don’t feel bad about making some ‘wrong’ ones now and again – that’s exactly the place I want you to get to.
