Are you getting
enough ZZZs?

A good nights’ sleep makes everything in life feel so much easier.  From having the energy to exercise, to having the willpower to make healthy food choices.

A diet that supports sleep is similar to one that supports a person’s overall health and helps to maintain a healthy weight. A well-balanced diet focuses on nutrient-dense foods and limits foods that are higher in added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium.

If you’re interested in improving your sleep through improving your nutrition, I can help.  Current evidence suggests that certain foods and dietary patterns can affect sleep.  So, from our initial consultation and all the feedback you will have given me from the ‘All About You’ questionnaire, I’ll be able to put together a personalised 6-week Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan, rich in nutrients that are vital for a good night's sleep. The plan will also include a practical sleep protocol to fit your lifestyle.

Genetics loads the gun, lifestyle fires it!

There is a lot of stress around us in the world today. Whilst some stress is helpful to motivate you into action, challenging situations we face can trigger the release of stress hormones, adrenaline, and cortisol. These stress hormones raise your blood pressure and kickstart the body’s natural ‘fight or flight’ reaction, to help you deal with the situation at hand.

So, whether you’re under pressure looking after the kids or caring for a loved one, or you have the pressure of deadlines at work, the constant stress in the body may lead to health problems.

The adrenal glands become overstrained affecting mood, disrupting sleep patterns, and lowering the body’s ability to fight illness, can make you feel tired and burnt out, even after a night's sleep.

Key Effects of Stress:

  • Difficult weight loss

  • Immune system breakdown

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Insomnia.

Certain foods and drinks add to our stress as we rely on stimulants to help us recover.

Our Nutrition Coaching sessions will:

  • come up with practical protocols tailored to your circumstances to help you alleviate the stress in your life

  • take a science and psychology led approach to improve your relationship with food

  • cover nutrition education and bespoke topics

  • provide online support, including an optional private Facebook Group for additional support – a great way to have a group moan!

  • include (optional) weekly food diary reviews and recommendations for adjustments.

Main benefits you’ll experience through your personalised 6-week Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan and coaching sessions:

  • you'll get support to make changes, taking into consideration your values and lifestyle

  • you'll get a better understanding of how nutrition plays a major role in your health

  • you'll get help to manage practicalities - menu planning, food shopping, and preparation

  • you'll lose or gain weight, depending on your goal, and improve vitality

  • you'll be less stressed and have more fun!

Your energy introduces you before you speak

Do you find yourself:

  • experiencing sugar cravings and dips in energy throughout the day?

  • feeling sluggish after meals?

  • not having a clue what foods you should and shouldn’t eat to maintain your energy
    levels?

The very nature of our lifestyles can lead to feelings of tiredness. Living in a 24/7 world where technology has created a society that never sleeps, we seem to be running our lives at a high speed and rarely take time out.

As a result, our behaviours and the way we choose to live our lives can exacerbate feelings of exhaustion and fatigue. These behaviours include:

  • consuming too much sugar, especially hidden sugar in processed foods

  • drinking too much alcohol

  • consuming too much caffeine

  • working late shifts or long hours with long commutes

  • snacking on the go and eating an unhealthy diet

  • not getting enough exercise

  • never taking time out to relax and recuperate.

All of these factors have an impact not only on our bodies but on our minds too.

If you choose to work with me, I’ll provide expert advice and support through our coaching sessions, to help you make safe and effective changes to your nutrition and lifestyle in order to combat tiredness.  At your initial consultation, we’ll explore what may be behind your lack of energy. With your input, I’ll be able to gather and analyse detailed information; do further research on things specific to you, if need be, and produce a tailored 6-week Nutrition & Lifestyle Plan outlining the energy-zapping food and drink you may need to avoid, and all the ways you can introduce healthy foods to boost your energy.  I will provide you with some guidelines for breaking bad habits, resetting your taste buds and metabolism, and overcoming food, weight, and health battles to get you the results you deserve.
